If you’re an event organiser, What’s Local is the low-cost, reliable way to get your event known and attended.

How much does it cost to advertise my event?At £2.99 a week for standard events, it’s less than a cup of coffee! If you want to promote your event further with a banner with a photo, it’s only £4.99 per week for premium. Save money per week by promoting for longer!

How do I create an event?With no account creation necessary, simply click the ‘+' button to add an event, add in your details, select how long you want the event to be live for, pay a small fee, and you’re away! Your event will be live straight away.

Can anyone create an event?Yes! If you are running an event soon, we want you! You don’t need to create an account to advertise, just click the “+' button and add in the details your attendees need to know, including any links to websites where you can buy tickets, contact details and use the map to pinpoint exactly where your event is.

I want to further promote my event. How can I do this?There are two different types of advert on What’s Local: Standard and Premium. With a Premium listing, not only will your app appear in searches with a name and category pin on the bottom of the screen, you’ll also get an extra space along the top with a photo and tags, making your event pop to potential attendees.

What types of event are on the app?A broad range of events can go onto What’s Local! Whether you have a 'go skydiving' deal, organising an agricultural show or a theatre production or teaching a new skills workshop, What’s Local is the app for your Great Local Events. We want your local business to thrive, so pick a category and use the tags to tell your customers what your event is all about.

How do I find an event that appeals to my interests?Want to learn to crochet, dance or cook? Or maybe you’re wanting a walk in the countryside or a day out with the kids. Whatever your interests, you can choose a category that suits you. Click on the filter and choose as many categories as you like or type a keyword, then use the map to browse your next great activity.

What are the categories for on the app?We use categories to make sure that What’s Local is for everyone. Use the category filters to help you find something that’s of interest to you.

How do I find events happening near me?When you first load up What’s Local, your map will be set ready for you to browse if you have location settings enabled. If not, just pinch and zoom until you find the place you’d like to start event hunting.

Can I sell tickets through the app?What’s Local is there to help people find events happening near them. If you want to sell tickets, make sure to include the link to your ticket shop when uploading your event and you’ll get all the sales you need.

Oops! I got the date wrong. Can I edit or delete an event once it's posted?Yes you can. If you’ve uploaded and paid for an event and spot that something isn’t quite right, simply email us at info@whatslocal.uk with your event name and event address, along with the corrections you’d like to make, and we will make the adjustments for you within 24 hours.

How long will events be live for?When you upload an event, you can choose how long it will be live for. Use the slider near the bottom of the form to indicate how long you’d like to advertise, and at the end of that period, your event will automatically end.

Do I need an account?No you don’t! No account is needed. With What’s Local, there are no email verification pages, sign-up sheets or annoying emails. Simply add your event and wait for people to come along. That’s it!

How do I report inappropriate content or events?Seen something you don’t like? Use the flag at the bottom of the event details page to let us know and we will review whether the event should continue to be advertised. If your event is flagged to us, please remember we reserve the right to remove anything we deem as inappropriate and will issue a refund for the remaining time that has been purchased.
